Jamie Oliver's Pork & Mash Gratin

Pork & mash gratin

Call me a little obsessed, but I cannot get enough of Jamie's 5 Ingredients Meals.

Except for being super delicious and so quick and easy to make, I still feel like I am experimenting every day and the best part is that every recipe has a little nutritional value table at the bottom of the page.

Like this one for the Pork & Mash Gratin:

This was comfort food to the max and I didn't even have to do too much to get delicious food on a plate.

Below the recipe:

Ingredients:

800g potatoes
400g piece of pork fillet
2 sprigs fresh sage
40g Cheddar cheese
4 slices of proscuitto

Method:

  1. Preheat the grill to high
  2. Wash the potatoes, chop it into 3cm chunks, then cook in a large pan of boiling salted water until tender
  3. Meanwhile, put a shallow casserole pan on high heat. Season the pork fillet with salt and black pepper, then place in the pan with 3 tablespoons of olive oil and sear for 3 min, turning regularly
  4. Pick the sage leaves
  5. Put the pork into a plate once it is seared and let it rest
  6. Toss the sage leaves into the pan and crisp for 5 seconds, then scoop it into the plate over the pork fillet. Take the pan off the heat - do not put it away as you will use it again
  7. Drain the potatoes, tip it into the casserole pan. Grate over half the cheese, add 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil and mash well, loosening with a splash of water, if needed.
  8. Taste, season to perfection, and spread out to the edges.
  9. Grate over the remaining cheese, sit the pork on top, then gratinate under the grill for 10 minutes.
  10. Lay the prosciutto around the pork in waves, sprinkle over the crispy sage, then grill for 2 more minutes, or until the pork is cooked to your liking.
  11. Rest for 2 minutes, then slice the pork and dish up.

I know you will love this!
